Provision of halal meals

A growing number of students and parents have been requesting halal meals. Innovate Catering Services are therefore now providing both halal meals and non-halal meals, which are:

• prepared in separate cooking equipment, washed separately after service
• held in separate colour coded servery dishes and served using separate colour coded utensils
• clearly identified to staff and students at the point of sale

Innovate source halal food from a trusted supplier who sources from accredited halal bodies. Meat is produced in line with EU rules and Innovate policy is that all animals must be stunned. The supplier is John Sheppard Butchers Ltd, Bristol, and details of the approved bodies can be found by clicking on the link below.

Sixth form catering provision

Café 6 was developed in 2013 for Sixth Form students, and provides a more collegial environment. With growing numbers of pupils in School from September 2016 food services for Sixth Form students are also available in the Sixth Form Collier centre.

From September 2021, an outdoor service pod will also be available at break and lunchtime, next to the parade ground canopy.

Pre ordering food

Pupils may pre-order baguettes and sandwiches in the morning for collection at lunch time. A pre order form must be completed and given to the Catering team and pupils are required to pay at the time of pre-order.

Student food choices and ParentMail

Pupils have a wide range of food, drinks and snacks they can purchase at School and the freedom to choose their options. We strongly encourage parents to review their son/daughter’s food choices online. This can be done by accessing “meal options” in ParentMail. on / daughter’s food allowance.
